No big lesson today. No profound insight. Just a casual life update because sometimes that's all a blog post needs to be and I think we could all use a little more of that energy.
Here's where I am right now.
Currently reading
I go through phases with reading. Sometimes I'm finishing a book a week and feeling very accomplished and telling everyone about it. Sometimes a single book sits on my nightstand for three months and I pick it up, read four pages, put it down, and repeat this cycle until something clicks.
Right now I'm in a good phase and I'm trying to enjoy it without putting pressure on it because the moment I make it a goal it stops being fun and starts feeling like homework.
One thing I've started doing is using the blank pages at the back of each monthly section in the Boundless! journal to write little notes about what I'm reading. Not formal reviews. Just a few sentences about how the book made me feel, a line I liked, whether I'd recommend it. It's become one of my favourite things to flip back through. A little record of where my head was at, month by month.
Currently on my desk
The purple Little Drops Planner is still winning and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I also finally restocked my coloured gel pens after losing approximately four of them to locations unknown and I feel like a functioning human being again. It's the small things honestly.
The pendant charm bookmark has also been getting a lot of use lately. It makes me feel like someone who has their reading life elegantly together. This is mostly an illusion but it's a very nice one.
Currently on my mind
Boundless is growing in ways I didn't fully anticipate and I'm actively trying to stay present in it instead of always looking at what's next. This is harder than it sounds. My brain wants to skip ahead constantly. I'm working on it.
The community that's been forming around this brand genuinely moves me though. The messages, the photos people send of their journals filled in and lived in and carried around, the "this is exactly what I needed" comments that come in at random times on random days. I don't take any of it for granted. Not even a little bit.
More is coming. Good things, properly planned this time.
That's all I've got for today.
